Antioxidants are the main element of a youthful diet. They are believed to assist in preventing disease by destroying free radicals before they get the chance to do harm to your body.
Some popular antioxidant foods are berries, broccoli, spinach, green tea, garlic and tomatoes. Antioxidants are also available in capsule form.
Co-enzyme Q10 fights the aging process at the mitrochondria level (mitochondria are the power-houses of our cells where all the energy needed for efficient body function is produced). This valuable nutrient can be found in supplement form or from foods such as oily fish.

Hyaluronic Acid is plentiful in our bodies when we are born, but it's levels slowly recede over time. This reduction in HA levels may be a big part of the aging process which we see. Hyaluronic Acid occurs in the deeper layers of our skin known as the dermis and it appears to help keep the skin smooth because of it's water retention qualities. It “traps” water and prevents moisture loss. It also regulates the life cycle of cells by increasing their longevity. Hyaluronic Acid also apparently helps to repair skin wounds and certain other problems. In addition, it appears to help maintain collagen levels.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant essential for would repair and tissue maintenance. Supplementation of Vitamin A has been successful in treating severe acne that is resistant to antibiotics. This is because of its ability to reduce the secretion of sebum and the size of the sebaceous glands. In addition, Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant which is believed to significantly decrease oxidative stress and blood pressure. Vitamin E is commonly added to creams and lotions to treat dry and aging skin.
