Green tea contains much lower amounts of caffeine than black tea and is rich in antioxidants. Do not drink after 4pm, in case you are sensitive and kept awake. Many report it may be helpful as a slimming aid.
Ginger tea is beneficial for circulation, digestion and reviving a tired mind. It can be drunk daily.
Nettle tea is rich in iron and other beneficial trace minerals. It is also good for the skin. It can be drunk daily.
Dandelion leaf tea is a good natural and gentle diuretic (promotes urinary flow) and can be drunk daily, especially if you are prone to cystitis or other bladder issues.
Chamomile tea is good for calming the mind, encouraging sleep and it can also be used to promote digestion and reduce nausea or an upset stomach. It can be drunk daily.
Cinnamon, hibiscus and liquorice are all good for helping to balance blood sugar and help with a ‘sweet tooth’ or cravings. Cinnamon is also warming if you feel the cold easily.
Fruit teas are also nice. Pregnant women can drink raspberry tea once they have 6 weeks or less to go before their due date.
