Description
Where ‘like cures like’ Weleda also manufactures Homeopathic remedies. Developed by Dr Samuel Hahnemann in the 18th century, homeopathy also follows a holistic approach to good health stimulating the body’s natural ability to cure itself.
Its guiding principle is to choose a remedy that would produce similar symptoms to those you wish to treat, i.e. ‘like cures like’. Each remedy is created by a series of dilution and shaking processes to produce a minimum ‘potentised’ dose.
‘Which strength?’
Over the counter homeopathic preparations are generally available in two strengths: 6c and 30c.
6c Potencies
In most self-help cases 6c should be selected. 6c is useful when conditions are mainly physical, such as coughs and colds, or when the condition progresses at a slow pace.
30c Potencies
30c is selected when the condition is very active (acute) and/or when there is an emotional element to the condition, such as occasional sleeplessness. 30c remedies should be taken as a short course only, unless prescribed by a practitioner.
Tablets shouldn’t be touched and should be taken in a clean mouth. The remedies are intended for self-limiting, minor conditions. If they are required for long periods of time or for chronic conditions, professional advice should always be sought. When the condition improves there is no need to continue taking the homeopathic remedy. If a condition is persistent or potentially serious, please consult your doctor or a qualified homeopath.
