DESCRIPTION
L-Glutamine is a non-essential amino acid. However, during (severe) mental and physical stress the body is not able to provide sufficient glutamine because then the need is greater than the supply. Under these circumstances, glutamine can be considered an essential amino acid.
L-Glutamine is a nutrient which is important for intestinal (epithelial) cells and for the immune system. It is primarily involved in the primary defence of the gastrointestinal tract and of the respiratory tract, where secretory-IgA is produced. Glutamine is also important for the central nervous system. Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the cerebrospinal fluid. In the brain it can be converted to glutamic acid, the precursor of the neurotransmitter GABA (gamma-amino butyric acid). Glutamine is a building block of the antioxidant glutathione, in combination with (N-acetyl) cysteine, and is also a component of GTF (Glucose Tolerance Factor).

USE
Take 1 to 6 capsules daily, at least half an hour before a meal or immediately after intense exercise. Take with water or another beverage. Preferably spread your intake evenly throughout the day. Capsule may be opened if experiencing difficulties with swallowing.
